“Think about it” campaign

Besides providing expertise in planning and implementing the campaign’s web presence, I was also responsible for: creating and maintaining social media channels (YouTube, Twitter, and blogs); promoting new partnerships and networking; and introducing the video as a PSA (Public Service Announcement) in several Brazilian TV channels.

Campaign Results

  • The video featured as PSA in several TV channels from Brazil such as MTV (2 months), Rede Pampa, TV36 Local, FIZ, IDEAL, etc.
  • The Brazilian Government started to use the video in several health related events.
  • The video is in YouTube since 2008 and other social media channels for videos.
  • The video was embedded in more than 50 blogs and news pieces in the Internet.
  • UNE (Uniao Nacional de Estudantes – or National Union of Students in Brazil) exhibited the video during their 2008 itinerant meetings conducted in 41 private and public universities in 26 Brazilian States.
  • The video was one of the finalists in the Film Category at the Cannes Film Festival 2008.
  • Other organizations in Nicaragua adapted the video for the context of therapeutic abortion, which is prohibited in the country.
  • Other organizations in Spain also adapted the video when laws about abortion were about to change in the country.
  • Translated to English and Spanish, the video was exhibited during the World Social Forum 2009 in Para, a State of Brazil.  The youth group from Ipas Brazil produced 3 other videos there based on the “Think about it” original video.
  • A twitter account for the campaign was created in 2009, with more than 5500 followers by the end of 2012 (no longer active).
  • The video was adapted again, in 2013, for Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru and Mexico.
